Recycling Shredded Paper
ShredStation’s Commitment to the environment:
Being environmentally friendly and recycling 100% of our shredded material is our goal since day one.When you use any of ShredStation’s paper shredding services, we guarantee that your shredded paper will be 100 percent recycled. The shredded paper will be pulped and sent to a paper mill to create new paper products. These products will appear on store shelves in a variety of different forms (tissues, paper towels, etc.) so that customers can ultimately reuse what they’ve destroyed.
The average office worker in the US uses 10,000 sheets of copy paper each year. That’s 4 million tons of copy paper used annually. Office workers in the US generate approximately 2 pounds of paper and paperboard products every day. That’s a lot of paper.
At ShredStation, we feel it is our responsibility help customers minimize paper waste and recycle as much paper as humanly possible. The core of our business is destroy the sensitive information contained in your personal documents, but since we recycle 100% of the paper we collect and destroy, our customers can be sure that when they use ShredStation, they’re not just protecting themselves, they’re protecting the environment.
ShredStation helps its customers to prevent ID theft, comply with privacy legislation, avoid fines and data breaches and preserve the environment.
Each transaction is backed by a Certificate of Destruction as verification that you materials have been securely destroyed.

Electronic Media & Computers
ShredStation’s Commitment to the Environment:
Using ShredStation Express e-media and recycling services ensures that no electronic media of any kind will ever end up in a landfill; nor will any be shipped overseas to countries where there is little or no oversight of hazardous waste.
More than 1 BILLION obsolete electronic devices and computers containing sensitive data are in homes and offices throughout the country. In the last year alone, more than 500 million such devices expired.
At ShredStation, we feel it is our responsibility to do everything we can to make sure these electronics are disposed of or recycled properly to preserve our environment.
Many people are not aware of the many components and materials in many electronic devices (particularly hard drives) that are harmful to the environment*

I. Electronic media Destruction
ShredStation is in the security business. Our primary goal is to destroy information for our customers in a way that will prevent ID theft, comply with privacy legislation to avoid fines and data breaches and to preserve the environment.
Through our residential and commercial pick up service, ShredStation Express will: retrieve and recycle a variety of electronics; and securely erase or destroy computer hard drives. Once destroyed, ShredStation Express will take the destroyed hard drive, carefully remove all toxic materials, and recycle all non-toxic components.
II. Electronic Recycling
In many cases, our customers present us with electronic devices that may not contain sensitive private information (monitors, keyboards, VCRs, etc.)**, but nonetheless should be recycled. Depending on what electronics a customer wishes to recycle, ShredStation Express will collect and recycle these materials, and ensure that they are not adding to landfills.
Certificate of Recycling
For all of our paper destruction, our customers receive a Certificate of Destruction as verification that their material has been securely destroyed. Our electronic media process is no different. When we destroy (crush or cleanse) hard drives, we also provide a Certificate of Destruction. When we recycle non-sensitive information electronics, we provide our customers with a Certificate of Recycling.
All transactions are administered by Licensed Destruction Agents that have passed rigorous background checks.
